Learn About Fat Loss Ketosis

By Thomas Roberts

So many people are struggling with their weight. It seems like it is much easier to lose fat from some areas on your body, and much harder when it comes to so called belly fat. Believe it or not, but there is a scientific explanation for this. And what's even more important, there is a solution for this common problem. Fat loss ketosis might be an answer you were waiting for.

Every body needs some fuel to work properly. The main energy source, and the easiest one to use, is blood sugar, or glucose. It comes from carbohydrates, and your organism uses primarily this source by default. If you put the body in the state of ketosis, it is sort of programmed to start using another sources of stored energy, and this means fat.

In the state of ketosis, the body starts to breakdown stored fat, producing energy for its functioning. It will result in increasing of acids called ketones. As he source of energy the body uses, fat acids have other side effects that you will probably appreciate. First, they do suppress appetite, and there will be no sugar craving as with other diets. Even so, some rules have to be followed, for health reasons.

So, there is a simple reason for burning belly fat here. In the process of lipolysis, fat cells releases molecules of stored fat, and in oxidation process, these molecules are used for energy. There are two types of fat receptors, alpha and beta. Beta receptors stimulate the process of lipolysis, unlike alpha receptors, and that's why you don't lose fat equally on every area.

When the body switches to ketosis state, Catecholamines enter the blood and travel to fat cells attached to previously mentioned receptors, and then they release the fatty acids stored within. Since beta receptors, placed on the belly area, for example, stimulate the process of lipolysis, this make it easier for catecholamines to attach to them, and to release the fatty acids stored within.

When you are on the diet, your organism will first use sugar reserves, and after that, fat reserves. But, these will be primarily alpha receptor fats, and belly will remain intact, because most belly fat cells have so called beta receptors. When in ketosis, the organism will switches to using predominantly fat reserves, starting with beta receptor fats, and most of these are placed in your belly.

The reason for suppressed hunger is also really simple. Energy stored as glucose is easy to burn, it gives energy instantly, but this energy level drops down easily as well. Fat gives more energy that lasts longer. The important thing is to take enough proteins, so you wouldn't lose muscles, and enough water to support the whole process.

There are several types of ketosis diets, but here are some general rules. You should not take more than 60 grams of carbohydrates per day, and this includes hidden carbs as well. Twenty to thirty percent of calorie intake should be coming from proteins, and the rest of calories should come from healthy fats. You should also take mineral and vitamin supplements, as well as water.
