One can hydrate by taking sports drinks, juice, or water among other fluids in large quantities. That can be coupled with applying cool milk to the skin using a clean piece of cloth. Milk eases discomfort by creating a protein film over the skin.

Apart from milk, any cream contain aloe vera can also be used. Sunburnt skin is moisturized and soothed when one applies aloe vera. Should one miss on aloe vera then they can use anything containing lidocaine. Lidocaine has the same effect on the skin as aloe vera. Cool compress with Burow solution and any cream with 1% hydrocortisone as further products that one can use.

Taking a cold bath or shower is also a remedy. Bathing is instrumental in cooling the skin. Use of necessary natural bath therapies is also recommended when taking a shower. Oatmeal bath, baking soda, chamomile oil or lavender, and apple cider vinegar among others are examples of recommended natural bath therapies. When one is sunburnt they are not supposed to use soaps and perfumes when bathing or showering.

If the skin is badly burned to a point that it is peeling off, one should avoid peeling it further. Instead, giving it time to heal is a better option. Severe sunburn can cause blisters. Such blisters should be covered and left alone to heal.

Experts recommend that a person takes medicine when they are in pain. Painkillers that one can take come in a wide range. Effective painkillers include naproxen and ibuprofen among many others.
